On 2nd Ocober, 2014 on the occasion of birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, father of the Nation, faculty, staff and students and other service providers had assembled in the institute premises.
Project Director, Dr. Ahmed Kamal, administered pledge to the
gathering to whole heartedly commit themselves for the cause of achieving the
goal of Swachh Bharat. The pledge was
taken by the gathering with high amount of dedication and with a strong will to
implement contents of the pledge. The pledge taking ceremony was followed by few
thought sharing discussions by the group.
During the discussions everybody felt the necessity to give top priority
for maintaining cleanliness. In fact the
programme is not confined to a single day, it is a movement and it is a
continuous process. In order to achieve
the goal, the cleanliness aspect has to start from the individuals from their
houses and localities.
Subsequent to the pledge taking members of gathering
voluntarily and whole heartedly came forward for cleaning the institute premises
and the garden area. Few photographs
showing the pictures of members of gathering participating in the institute as
well as hostel cleaning programme are attached. In the institute premises and
the hostel premises, Swachh Bharat banners are exhibited.
In addition to the above, few quotes relating to the cleanliness
are exhibited in both Hindi and English. Students have voluntarily decided to have
groups and proposed to visit nearby slum areas and to tell the residents on the
maintenance of cleanliness. The students
expressed their willingness to implement the contents of the pledge honestly
and to ensure the goal towards Swachh Bharat.
In the process initially, students have cleaned their hostel rooms as
well as their classrooms. This is really
an appreciable act.
Every day faculty will spare 10 minutes time before
commencement of their lecture and discuss and encourage students to maintain
cleanliness. From the enthusiasm shown by the students, it gave a confidence
that we will definitely achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat. This cleanliness
related programme will continue in the institute for ever.
